My earliest memory of the ocean is…in Normandy (France where I am from) cold, murky angry sea that conveyed emotions, but too young to remember when.

In primary school I was…always the one standing up to defend the wrongly accused kid and got punished for it. I still haven't learned my lesson, but I was also the kid staring out the window daydreaming.

I pride myself on…being a descent human being, a good friend, and to be able to get by with very little.

In my spare time I like to…surf my 9'1". Not going to win any comps anytime soon, but 2 feet on a glassy day is heaven.

My most prized possession is…my kelpie, not sure this will count as a possession, but he is my great little spirit guide!

I dream of…building a home and boat from recycled materials and live in the Caribbean.

One fact that most people don’t know about me is…my favourite piece of music is Gershwin—Rhapsody in Blue and I am scared of cows. I'd rather pet a lion!

I get really excited when…I wake up and the sun is shining, but also when I achieve, whether it is art, work, getting a nice wave, running the 10 kms I said I would, etc.

One of my greatest ‘dislikes’ is probably…hypocrites, as well as people who say they will do something and then don't do it. To me, it defies all purpose of communication. And bone-headed individuals who ruin it for everybody else (includes, but not limited to evil corporations, racists etc.

I pride myself on...hmmm, that’s a hard one to answer. Plenty of little things, but at the same time there is always room for improvement.

In my spare time I like to...think about how I should be more productive while shooting and editing on my iPhone of pretty much anything and everything.

To best describe my occupation in one sentence would be...helping people create rawsome energy for life!

My earliest memory of the ocean is...being a toddler and going to the beach with my dad and running away from the scary waves. Now I love being the ocean any chance I can get, and being in the ocean really does make me feel like a kid again!

In primary school I was...can we not talk about primary school? I do not have fond memories of school!

I pride myself on...giving 110%, and really wanting people to have the best experience with my raw food, workshops and online offerings. I love connecting with people and helping them improve their health even if it’s in a small way such as changing up buying store bought milk to making home made almond milk.

My most prize possession is...my dehydrator! It’s a raw foodie’s oven and gives raw food a cooked taste, texture and crunch and my favourite thing to do is make batches of cacao crunchies (a raw cereal made with buckwheat, super foods, and cacao).

I dream of...this may sound a bit ‘beauty pageant’ but really I do dream of a world where we are all living in harmony with nature, there are no chemicals in the environment, no cruelty to animals, big corporations willingly have a moral and social obligation to protecting mother earth, everyone is vegan, everything is organic and there is an even share of wealth and happiness! Oh, and Maccas has been replaced by raw food cafes and restaurants on every street corner!

One fact that most people don’t know about me is...I am addicted to Reality TV Shows. Yep. The trashier the better!

I get really excited when...I see raw food getting mainstream media coverage. The world is slowly getting turned on to raw! On a side note, I love French bulldogs or pug dogs. So WANT one! Anyone out there who has one for sale, please contact me!

One of my greatest dislikes is probably...loaded question! There are many things that bother me about the role the government plays in telling the general public what is good for their health when big corporations that have a vested interest in the government’s message, as food corporations and pharmaceutical industries donate a lot of money to the government, so the general health message gets skewed to help promote these industries bottom line and not the general public’s health. This is why we still see a nation with a growing obesity rate and all modern illnesses are on the rise. All of this suffering can be avoided, I believe, with honest information and education about what real health with real food means.

To best describe my occupation in one sentence would be...all over the shop. Smashing it out at one thing to get to the next, with bits and pieces of what I love jammed in between. 70-30. Ask me in a couple of years...

My earliest memory of the ocean is...sea biscuiting off the back of dad's boat up north in W.A. Getting petrified of sharks whenever I fell out, waiting to be picked up again. Salty, sunburnt, crusty-faced grommet freaking out but still smiling from ear to ear.

In primary school I was...short. hahahaha I loved to run and hang out in nature. I also won an art award for drawing the landscape and escarpment of Perth. I think I spent the money on a summer horseriding camp.

I pride myself on...being adaptable. Turning my hand to whatever life throws at me.

In my spare time I like to...surf, skate, hang out with friends, draw, drink coffee, take photos, sew and bodysurf.

I get really excited when...I'm going to travel. Road trips, plane trips, anywhere I know that all I have to think about is where I'm going to surf and what I'm going to eat.

One of my greatest dislikes is probably...tough...I am an animal rights activist from way back and I hate surfing with crowds but I think my biggest dislike right now is the crazy hostile takeover of social media and its effects on the new generation. The whole thing is breeding vanity and it's pretty rank. Selfies, chronic addictions to smart phones, friend requests, likes, followers, tweets between the sheets... yuck! Kids these days don't know how to smell the flowers, see what's real around them, be present with life and those standing right in front of them. Thank god I got to live a little before all this took over. And music...don't get me started on the music.

To best describe my occupation in one sentence would be...unconventional and—currently—unsustainable…rather fulfilling though.

My earliest memory of the ocean is...as enthralling as my last.

In primary school I was...shy.I pride myself on...learning.

In my spare time I like to... forage.

My most prized possession is...time.

I dream of...(last night) receiving a cryptic telegram that—after some confusion—I managed to uncover just the one word from, ‘meatworks’. As is common in dreams, I suddenly knew whom this had come from and got about trying to flag a yellow cab taxi, which I expected would then transport me to the international destination I associated with this word. Situated in a remote outback setting at the time, no such cabs (or any other forms of motorised transportation) arrived. Instead I jumped wire fences and wandered…

One fact that most people don’t know about me is...I tend to exert behaviours, mainly small fidgety things, or things like taking foods from a bowl—in threes, or repetitions of three. An issue with this though is I don’t much care for even numbers so if I’ve overstepped three, it generally means I’m aiming for nine. Which is three times the multiple of three and therefore a very comforting outcome.

My earliest memory of the ocean is...when I was probably about 3 or 4 I was wading in the small waves at the beach with one of those coloured inflatable swim rings around my waist. In primary school I was…a competitive student and always had to get 100% on my tests.

Dan: We are divers, artists, lovers, livers, stomachs, hearts, minds…

Kozy: And Yogis!

My earliest memory of the ocean is...

Dan: For me it is of going to the beach as a child in California. I remember even as a small child, 5 years old, wading straight into a wave at the beach and allowing myself to be pummeled it, dragged down by it, tumbled by it, and tossed up on the sand again. Over and over I would do this. Rinse and repeat. I liked feeling the power of the water, and the excitement it brought. This is still what comes to mind when I think of the sea: power and excitement.

Kozy: I grew up in Yamanashi, the north side of Mt.Fuji. It’s about 90 mins from the ocean. My family used to go to Shizuoka, the south side of Mt.Fuji, and stay there for a couple days to indulge on seafood. I caught some hermit crabs on the beach and took them home with me to keep them as pets, and they died after I got home. I remember being super sad about it. Maybe I was 4 or 5 years old.

In primary school I was...Dan: pretty much the same as I am now, only smaller. I could draw better back then though.

Kozy: I was more fun back then.

I pride myself on...Dan: Being a good listener, a good observer.

Kozy: Being a multitasker. Very focused scatter-brained person.

In my spare time I like to...

Dan: Sit at the bottom of pools, walk into mountains, swim with whales, watch good TV, drink with humans.

Kozy: Get stoned, cuddle with cats, listen to music and doodle, play with clay, and go practise yoga.

My most prized possession is...Dan: I guess my underwater camera housing. It is the thing that allows me to record many of the most the most moving moments of our life together.

Kozy: Health

I dream of...Dan: Finding some magic place that is filled with culture and nature. Those things seem hard to have co-existing in our society.

Kozy: Same as Dan. I think that our society makes us believe that we are just separate individuals. It makes us greedy and selfish. We don’t have enough compassion for other creatures and people. We don’t believe that we came out of nature, and we think nature is something we conquer, control, and use it as disposal resources. I hope that our common sense is going to change. I hope we will start seeing us a whole, part of a unit on the earth, and universe.

One fact that most people don’t know about me is...Dan: I think I am an open book! I don’t know what people don’t know…

Kozy: I am funny

Dan: She REALLY is.

I get really excited when...Dan: People get it!One of my greatest dislikes is probably...Dan: How prophetic Mike Judge’s amazing film “Idiocracy” is turning out to be. Or maybe just how far off the timeline of his film is turning out be, given that it seems to be approaching much more rapidly than Mike Judge predicted.

Kozy: Earth is overpopulated by people, and people don’t see us as the biggest pest.

To best describe my occupation in one sentence would be...to constantly try not to grow out of my childish creative nature. To see the world with open, childlike eyes, a simplistic yet very perceptive view as a means to create visuals and word.

My earliest memory of the ocean was...at a place called Nature's Valley up the East coast of South Africa. Riding a boogie out the burst river mouth as my dad ran after me in a state of panic.I got sucked out to sea. It sucked.

In primary school I was...very very small.

In my spare time I like to...find a spot on the beach and pick all the paint out from under my fingernails.

I get really excited when I see my friends making great things and being true to their creative spirit, when I walk past someone who had no intension of greeting me and upon greeting them in their own language, watching their face light up. When I see the moments of beauty, particularly in the South African landscape that overcome economic, cultural and racial difference, moments that make me proud to be part of the wierd country I am from.

My greatest ‘dislikes’ are probably racists, managers at restaurants who will kick you out for smelling like weed while they shovel heaps of booze down people's throats and then let them drive home. People's blindness to natural beauty and black boogers from too much time in the moshpit.

I build stuff, like houses and furniture and anything else that people want made mainly from timber. Wood is good.

I have a few old ocean memories in the think tank but I think the oldest would be bobbing around in dad's arms in the ocean near our old house. I must have been tiny then. I can remember him jumping us up and down over the waves.

In primary school I was…I was just another kid. Maybe a bit more left of field and as energetic as a shark at feeding time.

I pride myself on good workmanship either at work or at home on other projects. Attention to detail.

In my spare time I like to…spend time in the ocean on some type of craft, doing something creative (painting walls, drawing pictures for walls or making surf craft to paint on and then surf), and hanging out with my lovely lady and kelpie. I also like playing tunes on my turn tables, exploring backcountry roads on my motor bike, and hanging out with my friends.

My most prized possession would have to be my dad's old early 70s single fin and my dog, Chica the kelpie.

I dream of…staying alive and healthy for as long as I can and being happy along the way. One fact that most people don’t know about me is...dyslexic I'm.

I get excited when…the surf is good, big or small. I just love nice, clean, crisp rideable waves. Also when someone gives me money for paint and a wall to do what I want with. Or when I hear some heavy bass. Or when I catch a fish.

To best describe my occupation in one sentence would be…graphic artist for surf lifestyle brand Quiksilver/serial pub pest.

My earliest memory of the ocean is...one of those groggy almost drunkenly forgotten memories I’ve retained from my ridiculously early childhood was the beauty of thousands of dead, translucently pinkish jellyfish on the shore at Altona Beach (Melbourne) where I initially lived; I remember just wanting to touch their colours.

In primary school I was…brazen, ambitious and constantly amused.

I pride myself on…my work ethic, my taste in music and my impeccably groomed eyebrows.

In my spare time I like to…go biking down the coast. Scribble. Pub. Hang with some cool cats. Attempt to surf in an adequate fashion. Watch conspiracy documentaries. Practise tomfoolery.

My most prized possession is…I don’t get off on prize possessions as much as a lot of other people do, but I have kept some sentimental knick knacks; the first thing that comes to mind is my quality pint glass taken from Speights Alehouse in Dunedin, NZ. Ha!

I dream of…Aw, man! I have this recurring dream where the brakes in my car don’t work properly and I keep overshooting intersections dangerously. But if we’re talking ambitions and whatnot I suppose I dream of living in a nice shack next to the beach and drawing all day, perhaps owning an adjoining gallery/tattoo parlor.

One fact that most people don’t know about me is…I am a radical hula-hooper.

I get really excited when…when I get a bit of wind in my face. I’ve hence tried a bit of skydiving/bungy to supplement my usual pass-times of riding/surfing. I love the feeling of travelling fast through the open air- however I achieve that doesn’t phase me too much!

One of my greatest dislikes is probably…being discredited on the basis of my appearance.

To best describe my occupation in one sentence would be…communicate ideas through visual means.

My earliest memory of the ocean is…when I was about 8 we use to go body boarding in the middle of winter down at my folks' holiday house in Phillip Island (Victoria) wearing just board shorts. I remember we used to play a game of ‘who could stay out the longest’ or until someone went blue. Then we would run back to the house and jump straight in the hot shower. There were advantages in being the fastest runner too otherwise the wait for the shower was never fun!

In primary school I was…the maths times table champion with a killer bowl under cut hair do and big set of ears, nick named Gary Gob off by one of my teachers who thought I talked to much.

I pride myself on…following my heart and what feels right. Life is too short to be unhappy.

In my spare time I like to...explore the world, play music, surf, skate, dance, listen to music, take photographs, paint, draw, party, cook, eat, camp.

My most prized possession is…bot really a possession as such, but being able to travel is what I am most grateful for. I love to travel as it makes me feel alive. It is such an important part of my life.

I dream of…the unknown.

One fact that most people don’t know about me is…I have a black belt in Karate.

I get really stoked when…the waves are really good, sharing them with a handful of mates and watching the sun go down with a few cold ones.

One of my greatest ‘dislikes’ is probably…society's expected life path – school, work, make lots of money, get a mortgage, but a house, get married, have kids, spend more money, work more, retire. I feel like there is a huge pressure growing up to kind of fit into this model which to me feels all wrong. My grandmother once told me to keep travelling and enjoying life as the next thing you know you can't do it anymore – at the end of the day all you have is memories.

In my spare time I like to…at the moment, escape to the jungle! There's a beautiful little farm out of the city which holds a large piece of my heart. It's full of wildlife and exciting fruit, crazy big snakes and wonderful beings who know all about meditation, herbal medicine and the secrets of the jungle.

I get really excited when…I think of my toes going back in the water, and I can once again hang the tie up (for good this time).

One of my greatest dislikes is probably…the fact that people still think the sea has an endless supply of marine life and that we can as a race can take it for granted. Also that I am currently not surfing everyday.
